Quality & Compliance

Documented Quality, From Heat Number to Hydrotest

Our Quality Management System is certified to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. Product certification spans PED 2014/68/EU, TUV, AD 2000-Merkblatt W0, IBR (Indian Boiler Regulations) and ASME U-Stamp — with EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2 test certificates on every order.

Certifications & Approvals

Our management system and product certifications are recognised by procurement and inspection authorities across India, Europe and Asia.

EN 10204 3.1 & 3.2 Test Certificates

EN 10204 defines the types of inspection documents that accompany metallic products. We issue 3.1 certificates as standard and can arrange 3.2 third-party witnessed certificates for projects requiring independent validation.

3.1 Certificate

Issued and validated by our in-house quality department (independent of the production function), confirming the supplied product conforms to the order requirements, with results of specific inspections including chemical analysis and mechanical tests.

  • Standard on all orders
  • Validated by IBR Fittings' own QC department
  • Includes heat numbers, chemical & mechanical test results

3.2 Certificate

Carries the same technical content as a 3.1 certificate but is additionally validated by an authorised third-party inspector (e.g. TUV, Lloyd's Register) or the purchaser's nominated representative, who witnesses testing at our facility.

  • Available on request for project-critical orders
  • Co-validated by an independent inspection body
  • Supports IBR, PED and classed-vessel project documentation

In-House Testing & Inspection Protocols

Supported by the metallurgical laboratory and NDT capabilities within our integrated manufacturing ecosystem, every batch is inspected against a documented test plan (ITP) agreed at order confirmation.

100% dimensional verification against ASME B16.9 / B16.5 / B16.47 tolerances — including centre-to-end dimensions, wall thickness, bevel angle, flange face finish, bolt-circle diameter and bore. Visual inspection for surface defects, laminations and weld quality per acceptance criteria.
Spectrometric chemical composition analysis to verify compliance with ASTM grade requirements (e.g. WPB, WP11, WP91, WP304/316). Positive Material Identification (PMI) using portable alloy analysers to confirm grade at goods-in and prior to dispatch, critical for preventing Carbon/Alloy/Stainless mix-ups.
Tensile testing (yield strength, ultimate tensile strength, elongation), Charpy V-notch impact testing for low-temperature grades (WPL6, WP91) and Brinell/Rockwell hardness surveys to verify post-heat-treatment properties meet ASTM specification limits.
Ultrasonic Testing (UT) for internal flaw detection and wall-thickness mapping; Radiographic Testing (RT) of weld seams on fabricated/welded fittings; Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI) for surface and near-surface defects on ferritic and austenitic materials respectively.
Hydrostatic pressure testing performed in accordance with applicable product standards and project specifications, with test pressure, hold time and acceptance criteria recorded against each lot for full traceability.
Normalising, annealing, solution annealing and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) cycles are logged with time-temperature charts from our controlled-atmosphere furnaces, ensuring alloy and stainless grades meet specified microstructure and hardness requirements.

Documentation Package

Every shipment is accompanied by a complete documentation package, tailored to the project's inspection and regulatory requirements:

  • EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2 Material Test Certificates — heat-traceable chemical & mechanical results
  • IBR Form III-C — for boiler-grade piping components, subject to inspector approval
  • Certificate of Conformance — confirming compliance with purchase order and applicable ASME / ASTM standards
  • Dimensional Inspection Reports — per agreed Inspection & Test Plan (ITP)
  • NDT Reports — UT, RT, MPI / DPI as applicable
  • PMI Reports — positive material identification per piece or per lot
  • Packing List & Certificate of Origin — for export shipments

Third-Party Inspection Agencies

We routinely coordinate witnessed inspections and certificate validation with internationally recognised third-party inspection agencies, including:

TUV Lloyd's Register Bureau Veritas SGS IBR / CCOE Inspectors

Specific agency nomination is confirmed at order placement based on project and end-client requirements.
