Equal & Reducing Tees

Equal buttweld tee fittings manufactured by IBR Fittings

Our buttweld tees provide branch connections for process, utility and boiler-grade piping systems, manufactured to ASME B16.9 with run and branch dimensions matched to header and branch pipe schedules. Available as Equal Tees (branch NB = run NB) and Reducing Tees (branch NB < run NB).

  • Size range: 1/2" to 48" NB and above (run); reducing outlets to 1/4"
  • Schedules: SCH 20 to SCH 160 / XXS, matched run & branch
  • Construction: Forged/seamless (≤24"), fabricated welded (≥48")
  • Standard: ASME B16.9, run-to-branch centreline per "C" and "M" dimensions
  • Materials: Carbon, Alloy & Stainless Steel per material grade matrix

Typical Applications

  • Branch take-offs on boiler feedwater & steam headers
  • Instrumentation & drain connections on process piping
  • Header distribution in utility & cooling water systems
  • Tie-ins for tank farm and pipeline manifold systems

Concentric vs. Eccentric

Concentric Reducers maintain a common centreline between the larger and smaller ends — ideal for vertical lines and general diameter transitions.

Eccentric Reducers offset the centreline, creating a flat top or bottom profile — used in horizontal lines to maintain a level pipe crown (top-flat) for gas/vapour service or level invert (bottom-flat) for gravity drainage and to prevent liquid pocketing.

Concentric and eccentric reducer fittings manufactured by IBR Fittings

Manufactured to ASME B16.9 dimensional standards, our reducers provide smooth, low-turbulence transitions between two different pipe sizes, minimising pressure drop and erosion at the transition zone.

  • Size range: 1/2" to 48" NB and above
  • Schedules: SCH 20 to SCH 160 / XXS, large & small end independently specified
  • Standard: ASME B16.9, taper length "H" per nominal size combination
  • Materials: Carbon, Alloy & Stainless Steel per material grade matrix

Pipe Caps

Buttweld pipe caps manufactured by IBR Fittings

Buttweld end caps manufactured to ASME B16.9, used to close the end of a pipe run, fitting or header. Hemispherical/ellipsoidal forming with controlled wall thinning to meet minimum thickness requirements at the crown.

  • Size range: 1/2" to 48" NB and above
  • Schedules: SCH 20 to SCH 160 / XXS
  • Standard: ASME B16.9

Lap Joint Stub Ends

View full stub end page →

Stub ends are used in conjunction with a Lap Joint Flange to create a rotatable flange connection, simplifying bolt-hole alignment and enabling the use of stainless/alloy stub ends with carbon steel backing flanges to reduce material costs.

  • Types: Type A (machined) and Type B (as manufactured)
  • Dimensions matched to ASME B16.5 lap joint flange seating
  • Materials: Carbon, Alloy & Stainless Steel per material grade matrix

Laterals

View full lateral page →

Laterals provide an angled branch connection (typically 45°) for piping systems where flow direction or gravity drainage requirements make a standard tee impractical — common in pipeline manifolds and tank farm systems.

  • Equal & reducing configurations available
  • Custom fabricated to project-specific layouts on request

Crosses

Four-way fittings providing two opposing branch connections from a single run, used in symmetric distribution headers and fire protection ring mains where multiple take-offs are required from a single point.

  • Equal & reducing configurations available
  • Manufactured to ASME B16.9 run/branch dimensions

IBR Approved Flanges

View full flange page →

Manufactured to ASME B16.5 (NPS ½" to 24") and ASME B16.47 Series A & B (NPS 26" to 60"), our flanges are available across all standard pressure classes and facing types, IBR approved for boiler-grade piping connections.
